Titanium heaters

I failed Kobayashi Maru
Anyone have experience with any titanium heaters? I keep seeing them, they seem cool, and since they're covered in titanium, they obviously wouldn't crack, right? (guilty  before I put any animals in the tank, I've had one crack when I wasn't thinking and pulled it out of a tank while it was ON, panicked and stuck it back in the water and CRRRRAAAAACK...D'OH!!!). But I wonder if those titanium heaters are worth the money or if they still break easily.

I've not used on of those heaters. But I've heard that they still rust when used in salt water.
Dont think I would risk it.

Titanium should never rust. Rust is iron oxide isn't it? unless the manufactures are using a titanium alloy that contains iron it should never rust.

It may not *rust* so to speak. But the salt will cause it oxidize.Or what we in the sheetmetal trade call white rust.
