Top off water!

When you guys top off.
Do you use pre-mixed salt water or do you just add fresh for the top off

I have been using the water from that 20 gallon tall for a while
Im using that as a SW mixer untill i get the scratch to add Stock in it.

I have been doing 15 gallon changes every 3 weeks or so.

I usually need to add around 1 gallon a day top off!

well..when evaporation occurs, osmolarity tends to rise due that salt doesnt evaporates..what i do is i check salinity every day and add freshwater like 1 L every other day...i do my water changes every week..like 20%

only top off with RO water, not salt water or else your salinity will go up too high over time. The salt stays when the tank water evaporates and if you add more salt to it, up goes salinity.

thanks guys ! I do use RO water for top off's and water changes ans wasnt shure on the salt add .

so In a nutshel keep the salinity right reguardless witch i have been

Use fresh water to top off evaporated water.
Use salt water for water changes when you remove old water and replace it with new water.
