Transporting everything from the 35 hex to the 45

Do I need to do anything special when I transport live sand from one tank to another? Plus I'm going to need more water, since there is nothing in the tank is it ok to put in newly mixed water? Thanks for the help everyone.

you can either save all the water or change it out it is up to you how deep is your sand bed?

almost 2 inches? I was going to keep the water. So I can just take the live sand and dump it into the new tank?

take a bucket and put the sand in it and clean it with the old salt water then put it in the tank and add new water to thje tank. that is what i would do because you taking out the sand is going to stir up all kinds of crap in the sand

i would take a pair of hose and stretch it out lay some sand on it and rinse it to make sure all the old stuff gets rinsed out it might take a lil longer but then you make sure all the old:pooh: is gone

When I switched tanks,I put all the sand in a couple of 5 gallon buckets and gave it a good washing with the water hose.I did that until only clean water ran over the sides of the buckets.But any of the above methods will work just as good.
