False percs have 11 dorsal spines and very thin or no black lines in between the white and orange bars. True percs have 10 dorsal spines and noticeable black lines in between the white and orange bars.

i try not to get caught up my the true and false thing; there is only one Amphiprion Percula. the "false" one is actually Amphiprion Ocellaris identified as biffer stated.
