uv light/ refugium

You can run them together. Make sure your up light is on the return side after filtration. Does it kill good bacteria? Yes it does, but it kills the bad bugs and they are what kills fish. After you finish your build you can turn it off. Make sure you read what they recommend for flow and what you are trying to get rid of. Good luck.

+1. There's a lot of people out there that recommend against them because they kill good bacteria, and they're right. But in some cases, its worth it to rid your tank of whatever is in it and then turning it off again. I think I've heard of some people mostly using them on QT's because they have the time/money for a qt so their DT is disease free. I wish I could.
