I was pretty impressed with how well that worked in the rubbermaid container, very cool.

They were talking about that on the news last night.
Now might be a good time for all those hippies to get a haircut and donate it to save the gulf.:D

Yeah I know! It's pretty incredible how well it works.

Hahaha. With all the furballs on my floor and rugs from my animals, my household alone could probably defend the entire coast of one of the gulf states, at least!

Using hair to soak up oil spills has been around for a while, there was a big movement for it several years ago (6+) where my local barber shops were taking hair and donating clippings with peoples permissions for use in oil spills and cleanup. Difficult without some organization, but could be an extremely useful tool later on since it would be a renewable resource ;)

Yeah my Salon I go to, to get my hair cut, is doing that here in Tucson! They're wanting used panty hose also. Humm.... I'll have to dig a little deeper for that.

Okay I heard today that BP is not accepting the hair so it's sitting at a warehouse holding facility.

What?!?! Jeebus that makes me mad if true! All these people (and pets) trying to do what they can to pitch in and help, and their efforts go wasted.
