washing filter socks?

so i read in an article this week that you can machine wash filter socks with a little bit of bleech and just hang dry them and there good to go. anyone else useing this method ????/

+1...an easy method of washing them, just don't add any detergent to the washer. I also soak mine in bleach water for a couple of hours and wash by hand.

Yep. I wash mine in the washer adding ONLY bleach. I then hang them in my equipment room to dry. When I get ready to use one, I soak it in DI water for an hour or so. This cuts down on MY skimmer over reacting.

I also read that someone washes them once the way they are and then washing them inside out. Different idea!!

I wash mine inside out but pre rinse them right side out. Not sure of the effects of this, but I get about 7 week long uses before I buy new ones.

Better clairify that. I use mine for a week on and a week off. I can use mine 7 times before replacing. Thats 6 washes.

I wash mine inside out with Vinegar and hot water. And I have never had to replace a single pair.
