trying to match the water flow from the 29 gal sump to the 20 gal
refuge is killing me

i have a 802 powerhead pumping the water into the 20 gal and a unkown pump
pushing water back into the tank above

the easiest way I have found to transfer water from a seperate refugium to a sump is by using an overflow.. Only problem is the refugium has to be placed higher then the sump for it to work.. Been doing it that way for a long time now, tried several different methods and by far it was the easiest.. When tyrying to get a pump just right it is just an accident waiting to happen.

Ball valves are god's gift in this situation!

Ball valves won't help much, it's almost impossible to match two pumps together even using them.

Its possible, but you have to get two of those flow meter valve widget things.
