Went fishing in my tank can you ID

Alright so I went fishing in my tank for several hours today.:mrgreen: In hopes of catching some mantis shrimp I have seen and not been able to catch.:frustrat:

So mostly caught gorillas, about ten or so. Also caught a few red matrix and this odd crab. Hope these photos are clear enough for everyone.





Any idea what it is?

Xanthid crab maybe? I'm just guessing though. I'm not good at the ID game.

Looks close enough for me to be a porcelain crab, just red in color.

As for being a gorilla, I dont think so.

The pic from Live aquaria wasn't a good color representation.Yours is more the color I see the most.

Heres a tip on catching those mantis shrimp.
Stick your net in the tank.Just set it fairly close to the mantis shrimps hole so he'll get used to it being in there.Then start putting a silver side or something in the net for him to eat on.Once he's comfortable eating out of the net,tie some fishing line to the handle,bait the trap,set back and wait for the mantis to enter the net to feed,then just pull him.You'll have to be quick though and get him the first try.If you miss,your done with that method.
