The ride isn't the problem it's that sudden stop when you hit the ground. So don't crash.

I enjoy a nice bottle of wine while looking at my tank. I'm always debating on wine or corals, both expensive.

I hunt my local flee market for things to sell on ebay so I can feed my reef adiction.

And the one I love the most is my 7 month old daughter .

Just dug my HPI Savage out of the basement, been working the past few days on converting it from nitro to electric. Of course like any good project, the thought of taking pictures while doing the build comes in a distant second to actually doing the project. :D
Main reason I have done this, I think my 3 year old would like to see this thing run. Its been sitting on a shelf in the basement since before he was born.

I have an old ofna dominator .21 hyper. Thing is a beast. Love the trucks, nitro is for extreme hobbiest, they break alot. I also have a 36in shock wave with the hyper motor and a 6 channel and 4 channel heli. I spend more time explaining how I crash than anything. I guess my small brain isn't for 6 channel helis.

my other hobby is camping, I love sitting out in the mountains and riding/drinking beer/sitting in the creek/making huge fires and relaxing

We go to the air field on base since its the only place they will let Nitro fly around here, and from what I have seen crashing is just inevitable. One guy had an amazing jet. You know the ones that you sink a cool $10 g into just to run. He was landing and hit a crack in the runway, tire blew off and that thing skidded and rolled to a stop for like 30 feet. We all just sat there and watched......and then watched him make the poor sad anger filled trek to tow her back in.....

True, but when I bought this 1/8th scale truck, the battery power option for trucks this size was all but nonexistent. Now they have, relatively, inexpensive brushless motors with LiPo battery packs that give run time and power at almost the same level.

The nitro motor I had was the .25 HPI. it was a beast. I only ran like a gallon through it, just a pain in the butt to tune. Had to warm it up, tune it, run it, temps changed, tune it, run it,.... You get the idea. Did crash the thing about 8 feet up in a tree though. :D Busted a bunch of suspension parts on that one.

Got the mod for it mostly done. Had to fab a motor mount out of some stock aluminum, stole the motor out of a cordless power drill, just gotta get the battery hooked up. This has been a fun little project.

I know. In the past several years batteries came a long way. Not that I'm old...... back when I was hard into it, batteries lasted only 10 minutes and 2 hrs on the charger.

Got done with it. Just gotta adapt the battery charger for the drill to accept the connectors. Unfortunately, it was too dark out to run it other than to check it. Also gotta open the gear box and mod it from a 2 speed to a single speed. Apparently, the two speed is for the nitro to git it a bit more torque in the low end and not to affect top speed and since electric motors supply all their torque instantly, the gear box will get destroyed.

Close up of the home made motor mount. Not to bad with nothing but a dremel and a drill... :D lets see how well it holds up.
