What do I need in a tank without with a fish only tank

Then ask that family member to buy you a $40 stand for the 20 gallon tank you already have right now instead of maybe perhaps possibly buying you a huge tank and all its equipment in the future.

A famliy member is getting it for me.

Does the family member know how much it is? What happens if the family member runs into financial problems? What happens if the family member changes their mind about getting it?

The point everyone is trying to make is to plan for the tank you have and not the one you might have.

they do.

No. you cant just delete these threads every time you realized you have made a mistake and look like a fool. Life doesnt let you do that, and if you do the same with the fish when/if you actually get a tank, the creature is going to die.

Plus, we all know that you are a little kid trying to act like he knows something he doesnt. You wont hide anything by deleting this.

spongey. I get it. A family member is getting you the tank. YAY!!!

Who's paying for the saltwater?

Who's paying for your equipment?

Who's paying for the tank inhabitants?

Who's paying for the food?

Who's getting you either an RO/DI filter or buying you distilled water for the gallons of water you will lose from evaporation? And for that matter, who will buy you the filter or water for water changes?

How did this thread become this all I asked in this thread is what are some basic things I need for at tank.

You want to know how? Because you're posted numerous threads over the past weeks that just go back and forth back and forth. Can I do this, Can I have that.....yet your arrogant little head keeps touting how knowledgeable you are. In the last 4 weeks you posted almost 15 threads asking for help, all of them stating your intention of putting them all in one large tank that you don't even have yet, then most of the time you get pissy when someone goes against you.

Then when you DO give advice, it's baseless, and yet again, you get pissy if someone with more experience goes against you...sitting there like the pouty little kid that you are.

If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. Personally, we've all been amazingly accommodating.

the family member is also buying every thing else ecept livestock

So who will buy all of your "Rare" livestock? Will this member also provide you with and replenish the $50-80 buckets of salt you will need to keep this tank healthy? Will they provide you with all the food?

How did this thread become this all I asked in this thread is what are some basic things I need for at tank.

This is how. These are all threads that you've started in the last month about tanks you don't have or will never have, or animals you don't have or will never have. And these are just the threads I found with a quick search sitting at my desk at work -- I'm sure I've missed quite a few. You are asking all these questions but none of them are based in reality because you don't even have an aquarium and you have no concrete plans to get an aquarium. It gets tiring to see you post thread after thread after thread with questions when the answers won't matter because you don't even have a tank. People are spending a lot of time answering your questions, and paying a lot of attention to what you have to say, but none of it matters at the end of the day because the next day you have changed your mind about whatever it is you asked about the day before.

You have plenty of plans for plenty of tanks, but you don't actually have an aquarium -- you just keep saying that you are counting on a relative to eventually buy you one...someday...maybe...possibly...perhaps. What's next? "Would I be able to keep a sea turtle with an electric eel?" "How many manta rays could live with a school of purple tangs?" "I am getting an aboveground swimming pool for Christmas, could I keep a pair of manatees in it?"

Hmmm..I do agree that you need to have a plan. Just focus all your attention and energy on the smaller tank for the time being until its time for the big one. You can plan for the big one as well but not things like fish yet, more like plan for what equipment you want to get for the bigger tank and do lots and lots of reading on other people threads who have their own large tanks to see what they have and how they do things. You can still plan for the large tank for the future but I think it's wise to look at livestock for the 20 gallon, also pick out what lighting you want, if you want a reef tank you will need special lighting, pick out what protein skimmer you want for this 20g, also powerheads, also research cycling a tank if you haven't already and of you have then that's great! Just take it slow. Maybe use this 20g as a place to grow corals to put in the future 125g. Collect some rare corals now for the bigger tank. We all here on living reefs want to help you. When you ask for advice you have to be willing to take in all the advice we give, whether it's positive or negative. I wish you the best of luck! Happy reefing.

Biff....that's just.................................................................................................spot on LOL!!!
