Really? Why do you say that?
I've never heard about this filter. But it appears to be based on the premise of vodka or sugar dosing (hence why it is required that you add alcohol or sugar water to it periodically). If so, the science behind it is sound, but I can't tell you if it really works and does what it says it does, or if the risks that are inherent with vodka/sugar dosing in your tank are eliminated. It's a risky practice and not something that people should start doing without doing a lot of research first. Maybe having the practice contained in a filter like this protects the tank from possible crashes? I don't know.
