Its hard to tell from the pics. Will they scrape off?Do they seem to move?
My guess is either some type of algae or flat worms.Just a guess though.

they dont move, im not sure if they will scrape off or not, i dont like to put my hand in the tank, lionfish, im sure you of all people understand that one, haha!!! i was thinking some type of algae as well, but didnt know for sure.

HAHA,Yeah,I understand extremely well.
Its either some type of algae,or could even be a black sponge growing.

If you are concerned, try to blow it off with a turkey baster. If it comes off easily, likely some kind of algae, but, if it stays on, likely a sponge

i had some in my tank when i first setup. i think they are little black sponges. i don think there bad though. they seem to just dispeir after awhile

As Kyle said, sponges aren't bad (assuming they are sponges). They don't tend to live long in tanks though. They have very particular needs.

They are neither good nor bad. I have about 5 different types of sponge in my tank though, and I happen to like them. They just don't do anything, but they won't hurt anything either.
