What is the best hang on protein skimmer available?

I have a 75 gal tank and prefer not to employ a sump, so what do you all recommend?

Both of these would be good choices. The Coralife skimmers are hit or miss. When they work, they work well. BUT they have a tendency to overflow and flood for no apparent reason. If you ask people that have used them in the past, I think most of them would say that's their biggest drawback.

Have you considered a hydor slim skim? You have to give up some real estate because it sits inside the tank, but it has a small footprint. Benefits are that it sits at the waterline (giving an overflow effect and pulling the film off the top of the water column) and nothing will end up on your floor if it decides to flood.

After some debate and research I decided to go with the Reef Octopus 2000 hub skimmer. Nice unit. The one i have just isnt cutting it and as of late has baad reviews.
