What is this strange thing!?

I recently bought living rock and after a few months this strange thing was sticking out under a rock. From what i can tell there are only 3 legs/ tentacles. It does not move from the hole that it has made its home in. Does anyone have an idea of what this is? Is this dangerous to my tank?

It looks like the arm of a brittle star or serpent star. They are a good scavenger to have in your tank.

Oh cool! and I just saw a much bigger tentacle looking thing in a rock above it a little while ago... it looks a bit more red though. Just seeing all of the things that show up in the rocks makes having the tank interesting!!! Thanks so much for the help :)

They are scavengers, but mine love frozen food.

That was probably a bristle worm which is also a good addition to your cleanup crew.
