Hello all.

My tank is 9 months old now.

I have read posts from this forum and find it very informative.

Can someone let me know what the red spongy things are? Are they harm full? Should I remove them?

might be cyanobacteria. All algae comes from high phosphates. Suck some of it out, then do a couple water changes.

It almost seems like spongy grapes.

I can actually pull it off the rocks by hand.

It is botryocladia skottsbergii, a red macro algae.

should have told me it was bubbles from the start then I would have guessed some type of bubble algae. Prob wouldn't have had the scientific title like ccCapt though.
