What Is This?!?!

I sold my 56 Tall and all of its contents. With the money, I bought the 160 watt MaxSpect Razor LED fixture and I am building a 20 Gallon Long Reef Tank. I bought 30 lbs of live rock from richard at tampa bay saltwater and this was one of the peices that was included. I tried asking him what these were and he said they were tunicates. I am not doubting what he says but I was just curious as what a tunicate is. Is there something that comes out of them like the feather dusters or is this all that it is?

I will be creating a new thread for my 20 gallon long in uno moment....So check that one out too please.

They could be a sponge of some kind I'm not sure about tunicates it doesn't look right. You can find more info here

Some tunicates may have the external appearance of a sponge, but sponges and tunicates are completely different animals.
