What's better? Copper or Formalin? Also, these two are the only 100% treatments for ich, right? I've heard that hypo-salinity, although very good, doesn't always work, true?

no treatment for anything is ever 100% effective, and formalin is one of the strongest copper treatments for sale

Huh? Copper is 100% effective at the proper dosage and formalin is not a copper treatment.

Dustin is wrong, Capt is right. Formalin is not copper, and is not nearly as effective as copper.

I'm thinking copper is safer for the fish than formalin. Formalin is based on formaldehyde, true? Also, I'll need a copper treatment and a copper test to ensure that copper levels are just right. Is that it?

there are two different kinds of copper so make shure you get the correct test for it. there is cleated and non cleated (SP)

I use Copper Safe with an API test kit. I keep my copper level at 2 mg/l (2 ppm).
