Star polyp frag that is growing like wildfire

I recently noticed some white fuzzy growths on a piece of live rock that has a star polyp growing on it. It almost looks like a polyp shaft growing on the rock, but it's white and kind of resembles cotton. Here are some pictures (I circled the growths in black, there are some more similar looking growths on the back side of the rock I couldn't get good pictures of). If anyone knows what this is and whether or not it is harmful I'd appreciate some advice!

Thanks!

So these guys are good? I did a little searching around and heard that these can take over tanks.... should i be concerned?

They are beneficial filter feeders, but they can spread very quickly. If they start taking over, you can remove them, but that's very rare.

Heheheh...you could just expose the rock to air for a few seconds and kill them off LOL But you'd kill any coralline, too.
