White Shrimp-like Creatures when lights come on??

I recently had the chance to be home when the lights came on, it's crazy the amount of things that look different on the reef! The most surprising thing was a good number of white shrimp-like creatures scooting around the bottom. What are these?

Those are pods -- copepods and amphipods. They are a good sign and are live fish and coral food.

Thanks for the quick reply! So those are the pods I've read so much about...I guess I always expected them to be near microscopic!

Some are microscopic. Amphipods (the one in your pic) are bigger than copepods, which look tiny.

+1 Biff...if you see 1, that means there's probably 100's of them in your tank. :)
