White sticky string

I have a white sticky string stuck on the aquarium glass and not sure what it is. I tried to upload a picture but would not attach.

Is it more like a thin thread or thicker than that? Also do you have nass snails climbing on the glass? I have found that mine will leave behind some white mucas every now and then.

I had something like that in my tank as well. I have nothing in mine but dead rock. The looked like a flat piece of yarn maybe and inch or so long.

Thank you for the replies. I have attached a picture of the "worm-like" string. I do have snails but they don't leave evidence on the glass. I am new to this site and know it will be a valuable tool for my hobby. I have a Nano-Cube 28 Ga

Snail Eggs- If left alone will they hatch? I just scraped it off the glass. Should I have left alone? I appreciate the reply.

sadly, those eggs wont hatch. There are a few species that will reproduce, but they dont leave egg trails like that.
