Will this brain recover??

My hubby and I went to a fish store today and bought a nice brain coral except the flesh is missing on a part of it due to chemical warfare from touching another coral. The rest of it looks very healthy and not bleached. I bought it thinking it would make an easy recovery. Now that I've been thinking about it I'm not so sure about it. Do brain corals heal very well?? Here's a pic of it just after acclimation.

I had a brain like that, and once the tissue started receeding it was a slow demise for the coral. You might want to try dipping it in something like Lugol's, then make sure that your water is top notch

Its got some nice color, hopefully it turns around for you

I wonder if you cut that piece of like a frag if it would stop receeding, & save the rest of the coral.

Thats exactly what my husband said. What you guys think of that?? Is it a good idea?
