    Disapearing Xenia Corals

I recently had a healthy, rapidly growing Xenia colony crash. I started to notice polyps floating away until, in about 4 days time, they were all gone.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unfortunately that is exactly what happens real often. The Xenia will do fine and grow and expand and pulse. Then one morning you look at the spot they were at and they are no longer there.

What causes it is not know for sure but it has happened due to a quick pH change, a sudden increase in oxygen or a drop in it, attacks by bristleworms and so on.

Xenia is extremely sensitive to ozone and it is recommended not to use it when you have Xenia in the tank.
