Remember last month when I found the abandoned cat Gordon at my jobsite? In a house that was set to be demolished?

Same community, same thing happened today. Except it was 3 dogs today. One of the dogs (a chihuhua) was too skittish and ran off. My coworker and I tried to get it to trust us. I even fed it pork chops! No luck. We left food and water out for it, and she is going to go back on Monday and try to catch him again. He should be okay over the weekend, we left plenty of goodies for him to eat.

The other two, a Boston terrier and a long haired wiener dog, were easy to catch and are currently back at my house, occupying the guest bedroom. Christian and I cannot keep them. One of our dogs (Bixler) is very unfriendly towards other dogs. Petunia (our other dog) is the only other dog he's ever gotten along with. These dogs are so much smaller than him, so I'm pretty certain he'd try to kill them, and probably succeed. He just does not play well with others.

So if any of you Arizonans know someone that would like a long haired golden wiener dog or a Boston terrier let me know! They are super friendly, active, loving and nice. Hopefully I can catch the stray chihuahua and find that one a home too.

I'll post pics of them when I get home tonight. They are cute! I just didn't have time to take pics today since I was *supposed* to be working.

I swear, must be the area. I've NEVER encountered a stray dog or cat. Any loose cats or we have here have owners. St. Biff of Assisi....or rather, St. Biff of Tucson.

This is on a military base. Maybe these people just think it's okay to dump their pets when they have to move.

Nothing we can report -- no one knows who these dogs belonged to. These ones were actually loose in the fenced off demolition area. So someone obviously put them there on purpose, as the area is extremely secure and we work in there on a daily basis and haven't seen these dogs until today. One of the dogs has a tag, but the phone number on it has been disconnected. We asked around, and no one with the housing company remembers these dogs or knows who they would have belonged to. They were very skinny, and appeared to have not been fed in a long time.

I was about to ask if he knew about the new "temporary" additions. But how could anybody leave those dogs and not have them taken care of. I can not figure out anybody who would mistreat a pet.

It breaks my heart every time you post this. Mostly because I wonder about the ones you don't find. I've been looking for another little dog. Darn. Maybe I'll drive down.

I think about the ones I don't find all the time. I've been thinking about the little chihuahua all day. I don't know what I'll do if I can't find him Monday... To think his two siblings got saved and got a new chance at life and he didn't, just because he's shy... It's awful.
