Yet another algae question

Well the brown algae is turning into green algae. Im pretty sure thats normal but im starting to get pearly white areas of algae on top of my LR, especially were my filter is creating water flow. I used tap water but i also used prime.
What is the white algae?
and should I be concerned?

not sure on the white algae. but, try limiting you're lighting period during this part of the cycle and it will help cut the algae down a bit.

I think its coralline algae? I bought a live rock with white coralline algae on it.

If it's hard and patchy/circular, then it's likely coralline.

I heard in other forums that you recomended purple up now will this turn my coralline purple or will it just make the albino looking coralline grow more.

purple boosts coralline growth no matter what the color. all it is a bunch of trace minerals, calcium, magnesium, and alk buffer. check your'e parameters before you does. you could overdose if those parameters are allready in check in your'e tank.

Yep, it won't change the color of your coralline -- that's determined by the coralline that you started off with and your lighting more than anything else.
