Zoa growing by itself

Noticed today that I have a single little head from a zoa that has popped up. Thing is it's growing all by itself on the rock I have had the longest of all in the tank. Is it normal for zoas to just start growing somewhere randomly?

I think they have been known to drop a polyp off to grow in a new place sometimes..

Ok, but how did it get there? It looks like my large red and green one and that one has never been moved from the spot it's at now. And this small one is about a foot away from the large one I'm talking about.

they can detach and float away just like a mushroom can.
