I was planning on keeping some anemones, but low light anemones. What about corals? Anyone have suggestions on what types can be kept with 150 Watt metal halides?
All CRAP....Just when I was starting to like this skimmer it killed itself. After 4 days of working fine the pump stopped working. I'm going to return it today. I've took the skimmer apart and put it back together and even cleaned it out again and still the pump will not work. The pump works...
Thanks guys for all of the responses. The only thing I add is the Aquasafe water conditioner. I'll definitely try to not use it on the next water change. i'll keep you posted after 2 weeks.
Hi all,
Has anyone had any experience with the Coralife Super Skimmer? I love this skimmer because it works great in my 120 gallon tank. But the problem is that its producing too much micro-bubbles. I've only had the skimmer for 4 days now and I've adjusted the valves as well as the return...
Just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with carpet anemones? How do you feed them? I bought a pretty large carpet anemone for $30.00. They say they require very strong lighting. Is this true?
Yeah I was just doing some testing on my water parameters and my Nitrate reading shot up to almost near stress level. My fishes seem ok, but is there a way to drop the nitrate levels in my tank. I cleaned my filters about a week ago. I only feed once a day. Should I skip a day of feeding?
Well the live rock is starting to look better. I've cut my lights to only 4 hours a day now and the algae is under control. I'm planning on adding more live rock (about 30 lbs more) maybe in the next 2 weeks.
I've read somewhere that Canister Filters are not good for reef tanks. Should I...
I only have 1 tank...all the pictures are from the 120 gal. I have a stars n stripes puffer, dogface puffer, panther grouper, and a picasso trigger. You can see the grouper & dogface behind the fat stars n stripes.
How long do you leave your lights on? What type of lighting do you have? i'm going to start to keep my lights on for 4 hrs instead of 8 hrs.
Oh by the way I finally posted a few pics of my tank.....If you can give me some ideas of what I need to do to improve it it would be helpful. Or...
Wow...now I need to leave the lights on for only a few hours because the green algae has exploded in my tank. But the good news is the live rock is starting to get its color back. Yeah I should of measured the calcium level before adding the additives (good tip).
Well, so far so good...my rocks have not gotten any worse. The only thing im worried about is my puffers now keep picking on the live rocks. I know they are probably trying to wear down their teeth but I hope they will not damage the rocks.
Yeah im starting to see little feather dusters sprouting out and there's also a little crab in one of the deep crevices. I'll keep you guys posted on my results. Thanks for all of your responses, I appreciated. :)
