White and brown, in tank, Worm/Star?

Whoo hoo! I was getting worried. After I noticed that one, I started to see how many were actually there. I see tentacles all over the tank now. Glad it's a good guy, because I have tons of them.

White and brown, in tank, Worm/Star?

I was gonna transfer my live rock to the new tank today and noticed these. The ends of this thing/things look like white and brown stripes when in the tank, yet, turn green and black in sunlight. Should I dip these things off the rock? What are they?

How many purple bulbs would you use?

Thanks. I'll give him a call tomorrow to be sure. I see what ya meant, the 3 x 250w MH will drown out the mere 80w t5. If it's balance I'm looking for, I may have to go MH.

How many purple bulbs would you use?

My 72" 1070W Metal Halide System Advance Plus, from Aqua Traders, has shipped today. It has 4x 80w acintic blue t5's. I've heard that you can really make your pink, purples, and reds pop by replacing some of your acintic blues with Fiji Purples from reef geek. How many of the blue bulbs...

Drilled all 5 holes, building my overflow right now. Went with 2 smaller returns, instead of a huge one.

    Eshopps PF-800 install Please help!!

I didn't use my foam inserts. The big foam is supposed to go over the pvc and the PVC is placed in the black bulkhead. It keeps objects from entering your plumbing but restricts flow a little. I didn't use them. I wanted my algae scrubber to do all my filtering. To keep unwanted snails and fish...

Sump Pump Advice, 2300gph too much for sump?

Update I returned my 30 gallon long. Upon returning, LFS employee advised me to not buy a glass aquarium, for a sump, when using an external pump. The chances of the glass breaking, near the huge hole drilled for the intake, while doing basic cleaning, are far to great. I totally agreed...

Sump Pump Advice, 2300gph too much for sump?

Gotcha. Off to see what else is out there. I thought I could pull it off like it did with my 55. 10 Gallon tank underneath at 571 gph. But you are right, If I would double my gph output, (Like planned on the 125), the 5 gallons of sitting water in the 10 gallon sump wouldn't have a chance...

Sump Pump Advice, 2300gph too much for sump?

Hi guys and gals, I have started building a new 125 gallon. I have been told, in my tank showcase thread, that 1250 turnover in the sump is adequate. I have the option to purchase a Reeflo 2300 gph for the same price of a new Mag Drive at 1300 gph. I will be using a 30 gallon long for my sump...

Greasy Joe's 125 gallon algae turf scrubber tank

Thanks for that link. This looks like it will suit my needs. That link taught me Alot. Learned about 3 Different ways to do this type of setup. I think I will go with BeanAnimal's take on it. I really like the idea of redundancy, plus, the ability to use the secondary siphon to raise gph to...

Greasy Joe's 125 gallon algae turf scrubber tank

Hey guys and gals. It's been quite some time since I have been on the site. Work has been taking up alot of my time in the last few months. Haven't had the time to update as often as I liked. Within the last week I found the bigger, quieter, rental property, I had been searching for. Therefore...

    Algae Turf Scrubber

I love my scrubber. I will say, there are quirks and tweaks to be done while building and after. I had a few problems with the squirting mentioned above but fixed it with a cut really straight and exactly 1/8" wide. When I was forced to upgrade to a 512gph pump, from a 250gph pump, had to...

Bright orange branches growing from live rock.

Ahh i see, my name should be Noob. lol, This is the first time I've seen the big, flat, leafy, halymenia. I thought it only grew like the red stringy stuff in the first example pic. Thanks. Comparing red tree sponge pics and leafy halymenia, i agree, It looks like halymenia at this point...
