We just upgraded our tank from a 35 to a 55 so we are in need of more rock. we found a guy that has rock that was once figi live rock but is now dry and has been for awhile now he said he has boiled and cleaned it before and told us to do so again before putting it in our tank. my question should we cure the rock first before putting it in the tank and if not can it all go in at once after it is clean or should it be put in the tank in small amounts? just dont want to start a cyle because the tank has livestock.

if you boil and scrub the rock you can then add it all at the same time to your tank, if there is nothing on the rock it wont caus any cycle.
