Biffy Finally Gets a Build Thread!

I am really getting hooked on clams. I want a clam bed covering the bottom of my tank. I got two new clams a few days ago. NoobDeBiff picked them out. Here are pictures of all the clams in our happy clam family:

I also traded a huge GSP rock I had. The GSP was taking over and had already smothered a colony of zoas (luckily they were only brown zoas) and then they started to smother two of my ricordeas (a blue one and a green one). So that was it. I yanked the rock out, and my LFS gave me a $90 credit for it. Yep, that's HOW MUCH freakin GSP I had. Do you realize how much GSP you have to have for it to be worth $90 of credit?! A LOT. So I used that $90 credit to buy the striped green mushroom rock on the left. Then NoobDeBiff really liked the metallic mushroom rock on the right, so I bought that one too, for another $90.

Here are my two biggest pieces of SPS. They are growing out nicely, although the green one was pissed off at something in this picture... Slimy!

My brain is getting bigger too.

One of my favorite rocks in the whole tank, covered in fuzzy shrooms!! Each shroom is about 6 inches across. They are GIANT!

The sandbed is getting crowded...

I realized that I take crappy pictures through the thick glass and three feet of water. Since my tank is so large, it's hard to get good pictures. So I turned off all the pumps and powerheads in my tank and took some shots from above. This tank has only been set up since September.

I was only able to get the left 1/3 and right 1/3 of the tank. The center of the tank is covered in a big, thick piece of glass. Sorry for the glares off of the actinics. But you can see what I have in my tank a lot better looking downwards.

clams are great to have seen people with water problems add clams and tank gets all better. Clams filter feed nitrates and is the only way you will probally keep nitrates down real low. i have a squamosa, deresa, crocea all in a 75 gallon. when deresa clam gets bigger in going in my 125 to help that tank along there are no clams in that tank and its been doing bad but slowly coming back since i tore it down.
