MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE - 75 US gal. (284 L)
FOODS AND FEEDING - Varied diet with mostly vegetable fare, dried and frozen herbivores foods, marine algae, spirulina, pieces of zucchini, broccoli, leaf lettuce, sushi nori (dried seaweed no additives). Feed 3 times a day.
AQUARIUM SUITABILITY - 8
REEF COMPATIBILITY - Rarely bothers corals unless underfed, browses on filamentous microalgae and small flesh macroalgae. Feed 3 times a day.
CAPTIVE CARE - Most passive of the surgeonfish, has a small caudal spine, one of the least aggressive acanthurus spp. Usually will not bother heterospecifics, juveniles, but may squabble with each other, if more than one is to be kept add at the same time, can be kept with Naso and Zebrasoma.
