Sorry, no picture yet but will get one tonight.
I have a sea urchin that is approx. 2.5" in diameter (including spines). The spines are light green where they connect to the body and fade to white at the tips. The body is white with some dark grey markings. The tube feet are clear.
I'm trying to ID this guy and it looks like a green sea urchin (strngylocentrotus droebachiensis) but descriptions of this urchin indicate it lives in cooler waters.
Anyone know of a good website to help me ID this?
BTW, he is doing a great job of cleaning the rocks of green and red turf algae! Can't wait for him to move to the glass so I can see his mouth working.
