My 55 gal has been cycling for about two weeks now, I filled it with pre-mixed saltwater from the LFS and started with 30 lbs of live rock. (I'm waiting on my job to re-open it's doors so I'm strapped for cash right now which is why I just wanted to seed all the rock I had with a piece of live rock form the LFS....I'm currently running no lights/filters but I do have a powerhead circulating the water at 1,300 gph and a nice layer of live sand on the bottom of the tank.)
Anyways, I had a recent infestation of ants due to the heavy rains, and about 3-4 dozen somehow made their way into my tank, once they hit the saltwater it killed them instantly. Now my surface water is littered with ants and an oil-type slick. I want it out, now. Any ideas? I don't believe my net has fine enough holes to scoop the little guys up.
