Help!!!!!!

I got an anemone the other day and Put him in my tank he was doing very well and my clownfish took a liking to him. I figured since anemones are some of the harder things to take care of I should get a protein skimmer. This I think is the reason my Ph dropped one whole point I went from 8.4 to 7.4 is this going to hurt my tank a ton

Do you check your PH at the same time each day? I don't think the skimmer would cause your ph to drop. PH changes depending on what time of day you check it. I think it's higher when lights are on (when photosynthesis is active) and drops when lights are out. Not sure if it would drop a whole point though.

ya well it did drop an entire point and Im frecking out because I just recently got a good amount of coral

Your skimmer won't make it drop like that. Your Ph level rises during the course of your photo period. Try taking a reading again several hours into it.

weird I tested it again and it was around 8.2 hopefully I just performed the test wrong
