How to catch my serpent star ?

I'm trying to return my green serpent star to my lfs as it ate my six line wrasses and constantly rip off food from my corals. It officially needs to go! Lol. I am terrified of it for some reason. it is fairly large as well..I'd say around 12". I love to look at it, but I now have to pull it out of my tank... :shock: I tried for the past hour with my rubber tank gloves and a large fishnet. Lol! No success... It crowls under a large rock and hide... I'm scared that if I pull on one of it's arms, I will rip it off of squish it.. Plus it's creepy.. Any suggestion/ tips on handling a starfish? Anyway to catch it without having to remove all of my live rocks...??

You're right the arm will break off if you're not careful. I would wait until night time when the light are out as they usually will come out and crawl around looking for food. When it does grab it by it's body.

They do feel kinda funny,but as soon as you pull him out of the water,he'll be stiff as a board.:D
You can also lure him out with some food and catch him.
