So after countless hours on the web searching for a light for a 55 gallon tank.48x13x20. I decided to go with a aquaticlife 4x54 watt lighting fixture with 4 led moonlight.216 watts should be good enough for most corals and fish. One cord and a timer. I will post pictures when I get the light. The light was purchased at foster and smiths aquatics online.

I think you will like it I love mine so far! I got the 2 bulb one that has the option to connect up to 2 more fixtures so I can expand slowly as needed and not break the bank all at once.

I did however exchange the ugly blue bulb that comes with it to a fiji purple bulb with i effin LOOOVE!

That light will allow you to keep just about anything in your 55g.
