Octopus - General

All species of octopus are poor choices for home aquariums. They are extremely smart and will attempt to escape their aquarium, usually to their death. They will also investigate all the equipment in the aquarium, and in the case of filters, powerheads etc, usually results in incurable damage. They also have a life span of less than a year, and will usually only live a few months in captivity. They will also try to eat any fish or invertebrate put in with them.
