Phosban Media

I have a bit of a problem with algae so I was looking into a Phosban Reactor but I don't have the room nor do I really have the desire to spend the money on it along with the pump. I was wondering if I could perhaps buy the media, put it in a bag and float it in the sump? Anyone think this would be reasonably effective?

I placed a bag of Phosban in my cannister filter a while ago and my phosphates dropped to 0 within a few days, so ya, should help. The only thing would be maybe to keep it somewhere with a little more direct flow rather than just "floating" in your sump

depends on how heavy you feed etc. i change mine out every 60-90 days, the reactor is the beth method for the phosban but yes you can use a mesh bag.

rio pumps water through airline tubing into bottle with phosguard, mesh bag to stop from flowing media into tank, gravity drip into tank.

high flow.
