Test strips or test tubes

Strips are notorious for giving false inaccurate readings.
Test tubes. Or liquid testing is the way to go.

+1 Kel

Though oddly enough, I have a new LFS who has been doing in house service for over 15 years and has shown me some tricks and helped me intently... her corals all pop and she gets instant results... (more or less) and she uses one of those strips that has several tests on it. Then if anything looks questionable she goes to the drops and test tubes.

So as a tank gets settled and mature.. that is a tempting concept... testing gets to be a chore.

Rubber dolls don't nag... Lol

If you use strips, it doesn't seem nearly as sciencey as using the tubes.

Does anybody else sing a little song when testing?

"When a problem comes along,
You must pippet!
When the Nitrates are too strong,
Youuuu must pippet!"

rofl no but no doubt it will pop into my head from now on.

After my tank was set up for a while I started testing only when corals look pissy, but thats just me being lazy lol
