Can anyone help ID this thing? Looks like a starfish.... Never purchased no live stock, corals or rocks recently.... They just appeared out of nowhere... I have approx 10 in my tank now.... They seem to graze on corraline on the glass.. Are those bad to have in a tank??

It is an asterina seastar. Some people say they can eat corals and others(like me) say they feed on film algae. If you see them on the glass then they most likely are the algae grazers. Most of species are algae grazers and few are coral predators.I have a ton for over a year, never loss a coral,so I have the good, algae grazer kind.

Hum, interesting! I guess I will let them be and see.... Like I said, so far, they've been grazing on the glass....

RyanG, I have just been crazy busy for the past year.... I started saving up to buy a home, worked 6 days a week, been taking night classes in college, shopped for a home, recently purchased a home, started paking boxes, getting ready for the big move on November 14th and getting ready for the final exam of my course on December 5th! So yeah, let's say that time has been limited, I've been saving up (which means I did not invest a lot in my tank...).

I can't wait for moving day to come.... Moving the tank alone will be crazy:frustrat:. We are moving about 45 minuts away from where we reside now... I will dedicate 1 day to move the tank only into the new home. I already have a perfect spot for it in the living room :bounce:
This should be an interesting day... i just hope everything will go well.... Hope not to loose any livestock or corals.... I'm sure I will be requesting for tips and advise couple days prior to moving the tank!

Oscar you cant pick on Canadian accents! I was stationed with quite a few of you Wisconsoners and Minnesotans and yours is just as bad! haha.

Congrats on the degree and the house SXY.

Not as much as I like the stuff made in my home town! Last time my dad went to wisconsin he was at a cheese shoppe looking to find a cheddar that would top ours. He asked the propietor where to get the best cheddar he had, he told us about the stuff made in our town!

heres a link http://www.cubacheese.com/items-cheddar-1.html

And yet another hijacked thread! we suck at staying on topic so bad.

Yeah, but your talking cheese here:mrgreen:!!! It is a staple in my house and Cuba, NY is only five hours a way. I even do some work in the Buffalo area from time to time, although not so much lately.
