I found a majano:pissed: in my tank i already killed but threr are probaly more

What do I do!!!!!!!!Need Help NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:!::HELP!:

I haven't found a way to successfully and permanently kill them yet. My rocks are infested with majano. If you figure out the secret, please let me know :)

LOL...thats funny Oscar...but I have read that you could boil some RO water (rather than tap water), and suck this up into a syringe. Injecting each majano with boiling water, which will allow you to scrape them off one by one, or siphoned out with thin flexible tubing. In the meantime, a product called "Joe's Juice" promises to kill majanos without detriment to the reef.

Smitty, been there done that.

Boiling water. Lemon juice. Kalk paste. Salt paste. Joe's Juice. They disappear for a few days, but come back stronger than ever. I have smothered them, injected them, soaked them, doused them.

Wow, well then, there only three other options...
1) Atom bomb like Oscar suggested, or
2) Take the rock out and let it dry out, you're bound to lose other critters, but at least you get rid of them, or
3) Accept them, and give them little pet names...lol

I have the same issue with colonial hydroids. The only way to kill them is pull the rock out of the tank and destroy. However, Majano's are a different story.

Good luck to both of you!

I'm not sure why Joe's Juice or kalk paste didn't work for Biff.Are you sure you tried Biff or did you do like me.Stare into the tank and wished them away.BTW,that doesn't work too good.

JJ and kalk paste has worked for me.

Oh I'm sure they didn't work. I injected 1 ml into each one, and they disappeared for a few days, but then were back again exactly where they were before.

Lemon juice isn't working for me at this point. They wither a bit then just come back stronger like biff mentioned. I'm in the same boat you are, I'll let you know if i find something that works.

go to the local vet and get a 22 gage needle or smaller and make a kalk solution and stick the needle in the base of the nem and inject it.
