I have a 55 gallon aquarium that has been up and running for about a month now."
Recently some kind of red algae has started growing on the sand and is spreading to the rocks. How do I get rid of it and keep it from coming back?
Ok, so no filter, but plenty of live rock and a good skimmer. It seems that every one that I talk to does things differently. Some say no skimmer...good filter. Others say no sump...quality skimmer.
:frustrat:
I'm debating on which canister filter to use. I've found two on Amazon. One is an Aquatop cf400 UV 4-stage 370gph for $89.95. The other is a Fluval 405 340gph for $119.95. Does anyone have an opinion on which would be best for my 55 gallon tank? I'd appreciate any input!
Thanks :D
Thanks for the tips! I am definitely going to take my time doing this. I am not in any hurry. I mean, don't get me wrong-i can't wait to see fish in there, but better safe now than sorry later :)
I just bought a used 55 gallon aquarium that the previous owner had set up for saltwater. It came with the sand and all the rocks. Do I need to clean the sand and the rocks before I do any setting up? She had it in storage for quite a while.
Thanks in advance
