I like colonies because you frag them and they pay for themselves AND you get a frag still.

Not sure on the flourescents. But I have used LEDs for a long time, couple years. Everything likes them. It's about the intensity. Too much and you will bleach your coral. No other anything you noticed? Nothing else seemed "off?" The salinity could have been at fault. How long was it like that? Pretty low. Especially if was like that for a while. Get an Auto top off if you do not have one. They are a life saver. I think they do more than anything else to keep...

I have a friend who used the frag rack material as a cover. He had a Six LIne Wrasse jump through one of the spaces. That is nuts. They will find a way. I go for small hole plastic screen. It has the added benefit of not messing with the lights either. They can shine right through it.

I try to acclimate fish a bit longer than that. Have you checked other levels? Nitrite? Nitrate? Phosphate? There must have been something at a crazy level to hit fish like that so quickly.
