    lack of Zoa growth

Yeah my digital controller is only in celcius sorry. Do zoa's like "dirty" water? They have spread out and attached to their surroundings but just don't multiply. They also seem to like indirect light more than direct.

    lack of Zoa growth

I have a 29g biocube (newer style) with thriving kenya tree, plate and branch montipora, duncan LPS, pulsing xenia and green star polyp, all growing fast. I have a few types of zoa's that seem nice and healthy but just don't propogate. Curios what they might be needing. 1.024sg 25.6deg. C 0...

    Lens help

Any lens should work ok. You want to increase the depth of field, so try shooting at F/9 Ishmael and a quick(1/100 plus) shutter speed. Try using the flash in different ways. I use a wireless flash setup above the tank

To skim or not to skim...

I like the idea of skimming. The Skimmers for bio-cubes are pretty small and cheap. Search Amazon for the BioCube skimmer

40 Gallon Live Rock, No Fish yet, any advice appreciated

You rocks look great, but I would be careful if you get any creatures that sift the substrate or move it around, My engineer goby caused a major colapse one day on me. That flat rock on the left near the top probably has enough lighting for some soft corals. I had some green star polyps do...

    Calcium Question

Xennia I have heard can be picky, but mine are doing great. I have been having good luck with my Kenya tree, zooa's, and green star polyps as well. I have 2 hard corals, a plate and branch type, and the individual polyps seem to be doing great but I dont see any real growth on the hard corals...

    29G BioCube

Thanks for the info, I found a 5000k bulb ill be useing. I used about 1/4" crushed coral just to keep the chaeto out of the screen at the bottom of the sump area. the water in there is so turbulent the crushed coral actually shifts around and the water is pulled down through it so I thought it...

    29G BioCube

I have a new-style BioCube and have heard the bio-balls are about useless(and I agree they didnt seem to be doing anything) So I have removed them, put about 1/4" crushed coral over the screen, put a decent size chunk of live rock and Chaeto in the sump. Im curious what temp lighting I should be...

Questions about cycle --- No nitrates?

My 29g BioCube is about 4 months old and I check nitrates about every other week. I have never had any indication at all as well.
