    Algae on my Algae

I think I have plenty of light, I have two of the FugeRay LED lights I got from eBay and it's as bright or brighter than the tank. I'll add a power head and get the flow up. No problem rinsing the saltwater Chaeto in freshwater tap water? Thanks

    Algae on my Algae

I am having a Algae problem in my 80G saltwater tank. I purchased a Refugium and have live rock rubble and CHAETOMORPHA in it to help with the Algae problem. It's been going for about 2 weeks now and I am seeing brown algae on the sides but it is also growing on the Chaetomorpha. Will this kill...

    Reaction 4 canister filter

Cleaned the impeller and impeller cavity, was no help. UV light is built into the reaction 4 filter but would guess it's the same, I should see something so it must be burned out.

    Reaction 4 canister filter

Have two questions. First the impeller seems to be just going back and forth, not spinning. Is that a problem with the impeller or the works in the head? The UV lamp, does it emit any visible light and if not how do you tell if it's on and not burned out? Thanks

    Refugiun setup

The aquafuge as far as I know has no space for floss or carbon and if you want to stimulate pod production don't you need sand or mud ..Just asking, I don't know.

    Refugiun setup

I just purchased a aquafuge for my 80G tank. Do I need to buy mud for it or is just live sand good enough?

Can't get rid of the Algae

This Algae has beat me, this is no fun any more. Over the course of the past 4 to 6 months I have completely taken down and emptied the aquarium, scrubbed it with bleach to hopefully kill all the algae (unsuccessfully it appears). Filled it back up with RO water and new sand, seasoned it for a...
