the base looks like the bulb of an anemone, and is about 1 cm long. it has an opening in the middle with a clear fan like membrane over it. it is not a very complex animal so there is not really much that I can say about it.

better description as in how? I don't have a digital camera or I would post pics.

My chocolate chip starfish is very tempermental, I will think that it is dead, but two or three days later it will be cruising along on the side of the tank. But I still haven't figured out why it becomes swollen every now and then. Does anyone know why?
