I suppose maybe the chemiclean treatments could have killed my snails maybe

Am using frozen food. San Francisco Bay brand. About half a cube a day. 10-20% water changes weekly

I don't know why else all my snails are dying. The stuff on the sand you think is diatoms?

Using ro/di water, filters have all been replaced recently. Lights on around 8 hours a day

Also the hob filter I was just running after the chemiclean treatments to help filter out garbage from the water column. I changed filters every few days in it when it was running

It is a film that is over some rocks with bubbles underneath and on the sand it lifts up in pieces like a mat

The tank is about a year and a half old. I have maybe 75 or so nass snails

My algae on my rocks finally is almost all gone and now my sand is ugly.

If it is air bubbles it means your stuff is doing the job. It is the algae releasing nutrients causing the bubbles.

It looks different than the hair algae I've had to deal with. I am wondering if it is bryopsis or a red turf algae?

How is the hair algae battle going? I too was having the same problems, but am finally seeing all the rocks again.

I am ready for corals after I got my Radions now and is there any good articles on how to acclimate and I read somewhere about dipping them? I want to learn a little more before I add them to my tank.
