    Adding air to salt water?

Exactly why I'm second guessing going from my 90 to the 220. This is a pain. And more work and money than I have. When I have to work on something all the time, it's no longer fun or enjoyable.

    Adding air to salt water?

It calculates, but you have to know what product to use before it tells you how much of it to use. I don't know what the best product to buy is.

    Adding air to salt water?

Yeah, plenty of calcium. Never have to worry about that.

    Adding air to salt water?

My calcium stays at 500+ I don't know what to do with it. I wanted a tank that I can enjoy, not work on it constantly. Guess that's not possible in saltwater. The freshwater is much easier to fix, I can put in crushed coral to balance everything. I did this about 5 years ago, must be as...

    Wow ......

Yep ... My Clown use to nip at me every time I put my hands in the tank. He finally quit. Must of figured out my hand is what puts food in his belly.

    Adding air to salt water?

I'm using Oceanic now. I have tried Kent and SeaChem. The same thing happens no matter what salt I use. I even add buffer to the salt when I mix it. The water in the tote is PH 7.8 KH 10 drops .. 179.

    Adding air to salt water?

I don't test a lot, I probably should .. but the last time I tested, my PH was 7.2 in the freshwater and 7.6 in the saltwater.

    Adding air to salt water?

All I know is that if the Alk is too low, it lowers the PH. At least that is the way it is in my tank. I've had my freshwater crash a lot. I don't know all the technical part of what ALK does. Someone more knowledgeable in that will have to chime in.

    Adding air to salt water?

From what I've read, it's suppose to be around 8 drops or above. The last time I tested, it was 3 drops .. or 53.7 ppm. It's the same in my freshwater also. It's an ongoing battle :frustrat:

    Adding air to salt water?

Thanks Sen. I don't know if it works or not. My ALK is always low, and someone suggested doing this.

Guess no one has heard of doing this ..

    Adding air to salt water?

What are your thoughts on aerating your water to get rid of Co2 ? I heard that Co2 produces carbonic acid that can drive Alk and PH down. I have this problem with my water in my freshwater tank and my pond. Someone told me this, I don't know all the in's and out's of the logic. I have PH out...

    My new Coco Worm

It was the worm & feather. At least, I think it was the worm. It was 1/2 to an inch long with the feathers attached to it. It was laying behind my clam.

    My new Coco Worm

No it wasn't ... I really liked him. He came out once, found him behind my clam. The next day, he was back in his tube. Than about a week or so later, he was out again, but never found him .. I left the tube in there, but no sign of him. I'll get another one when we get the other tank set up,
