    IMO, i would test the rocks for phosphates first by sitting them in just enough saltwater to cover them that you've tested for phosphates and known good for at least 1 night.then i'd test the water again.     if you can, take one of the rocks and soak it into a bucket of new saltwater overnight, then test the water for phosphate. if you get a reading, then the rocks are leaching phosphate. goodluck!
