not sure of how old it is, I would say it runs for about 10-12 hours opposite of the main tank lights

I have plenty of flow in my fuge (about 75% of my return line's flow dumps in there), I am not sure about the light but it is a cf spiral light.

    black algae

I only feed two or three times a week (Elos SVM2 Granular Marine Fish Food - English), every time I put either cheato or caluerpa in the fuge, the algae overtakes it and kills it, how do I skim more aggressively (more wet ot dry?), I run a phosphate reactor with GFO (...

I have some kind of black algae in my refugium. I also have some gren hair algae and some reddish looking cyano in there. I am not sure what it is. Everything else in there is fine. I keep the temp between 77-79F. The salinity is 1.024-1.025, Ca is 475, Mg is 1300, Ph is around 7.9-8.1. I...

    92 Gallon Corner Tank?

I have a 92 gallon corner tank. I only found two problems with it. 1 - the limited swimming space. 2 - finding the right combination of powerheads and their position to get the optimal flow for all of the corals. I went with this tank b/c it fit my room better.

    tank cooling

I went to the local pc store and bought two plain 120mm fans and spliced in the 3 pin pc hookups to the existing wires on the old fans. They work like a charm. Thanks guys for the help.

    tank cooling

I am not sure if there is a thread on this, but here goes. I am looking for a way to cool a 92 gallon corner reef tank. I had two of the Coralife 4 3/4" fans in the canopy. I cannot seem to find them anywhere to buy, because mine finally went bad a few weeks ago. I cannot afford a chiller...

    Losing Interest

I guess it is possible that my fish are herbivores. I pretty much have tried tangs. I am not sure of any other reef safe fish to put in there. Last time I tested my H2O, it was: ph-8.1, alk-9kh, ca-460, mg-1400, and gravity was 1.025. I keep the temp between 78-80.

    Losing Interest

I had a Clarkii clownfish in there all by itself for a long time. I was finally able to catch him and trade him in for some credit. I then got the two clownfish that I have today and a yellow eyed kole tang. The tang lasted about a couple of months. Since he went away from here, I have not...

    Losing Interest

I have a lot of corals. For some reason, I just can't keep more fish in it. I have tried for a couple of years now. All kinds of fish (reef safe, of course) with no luck.

    Losing Interest

Does anyone feel sometimes like they just want to give up the whole aquarium thing? Everything is doing great in the tank, its just getting kind of boring. For some reason, I have only been able to keep 2 fish in my tank for over a year or so. Maybe that is it. I am not sure. Any ideas? I...
